This amateur home movie sets the background to Shirin Bazleh's "Journey to Abadan". Made around 1970, at the height of the Shah's modernization program, it shows children of National Iranian Oil Company executives at a birthday party in this well-to-do southern Iranian oil town devastated by Iraqi forces a decade later.
