Poetry

From one story to another
(For Maya)

So I came to this land a stranger in my own mind, amongst 10 million strong just like me

A people of an arid nation dry and open to change and lured by the fine crevices of green opportunity

And neither obsessive compulsive nor manic depressive re-diagnosed bipolar schizo literate

Could capture a more stunning recount than this

And I met a lively girl, not in the cliché way

But in English class, that neither one of us wanted to be in

Science and writing I think was the name

And again, neither one of us wanted to be there

But we met, and fell into that giving stairwell

And we began this voyage called love

And we were beside ourselves, playing show and tell

With only our stories to guide us in the dark
