First of Seven Chapters
When
I'm framed in the framework of society,
when I've accepted and acknowledged all deity,
when I'm framed and hanging from the wall,
my limbs protruding from all four corners,
dangling legs that fear a fall,
arms that do me no more favors.
But that's not all...
My captor still desires more,
she strides and glides about the floor.
In every movement that takes place,
with subtle salamander grace,
the circle draws closer to a close,
where the lines will meet, no one knows.
When every motion is controlled,
some other secret will unfold.
Trapped in this ungodly trance,
impatient, I want deliverance.
My eyeballs the only moving entities,
roll in the sockets, ill at ease,
seeking motion for self-appease,
recording things that no one sees.
Unravelling every mystery,
dissecting what is history.
My condition so very vile,
leads me to think it's volatile.
Though to flesh I am confined,
genuine freedom is on my mind.
There are no boundaries and no limit,
to the ventures of the human spirit.
Then I smell that pungent smell,
of damp earth being overturned.
I try to break loose from this hell,
to earth I will and shall return.
The consciousness I tried to seek,
misled me to a futile peak.
From here there is no way but down,
before this odyssey I should have found,
that to myself I shall return,
no matter where I try to turn.
So with not much grace,
I accept my plight.
Passive but bitter, I've stopped my fight.
Surrender-
I will.
Submit-
I will.
Five times a day I'll turn to Mecca,
and start my prayers in the name of Allah.
This vicious circle will go round,
til' I find my peace, under ground.
