From January 30th till February 2nd the Rotterdam Film Festival 2007 opened it's Iranian section titled Hotspot Tehran. Films and documentaries were shown made by Iranian film makers as well as daily music performances by famous Iranian artists such as Reveal, Abjeez, DJ Ishtar and many others. This was the first Iranian section at the festival with the intention to share the Iranian art and culture with the rest of the world. The festival's host Kees Brienen with the help of many artists from the young Iranian diaspora including the creators of the Iranian Intergalactic Music Festival who helped make this event possible tried once again to fight the negative and untrue images of Iran portrayed by the media.
