Empty wishes

One time
We were friends
Now we are not
One time
We knew each other
Like the back of our hands
One time
We could finish each other's sentences
Now we don't even talk
I wish we could go back
To the time when we could
Do all we did
But now there is nothing
But sad bitterness
Between us
I wish we were now
What we once were
But I guess it is like they say
If wishes were money
I would be rich
But alas, I am not
So this is to you
I still am here
Wishing my empty wishes
