Change
Dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi who said, "You must be the change that you want to see in the world!"

Full of ambition in my youth
I was all set to change the world
Although my intentions were good
I was somehow naive and bold
And so I labored day and night
In summer heat and winter cold
I even searched for alchemy
Turning base metals into gold
Yet, I did not gain my purpose
Life's mysteries wouldn't unfold
"Change must begin with yourself"
This repeatedly I was told
I bought some books and ideas
On some of which I was sold
Now I see things differently
I look at life and behold
Finally at peace with the world
I am much wiser now but old.
