She declared I am,
Yet they ignored her.

She had opinions and a voice,
Yet she was not heard.

She had feelings and heart,
Yet they treated her inhumanly.

She wanted to come forth,
Yet they told her to hide.

She found a new home here,
Yet she never belonged.

She wanted to be in the light,
Yet she was in the shadows.

She had goals beyond today,
Yet they denied her dreams.

I am you,
Yet you don‚t know me.
