Madonna: Iranian flag

I had a question that I though you might be able to answer, and it might sound stupid so sorry about that. I was recently watching the new Madonna video, "American Life", which you can view here. I am trying to figure out what her song is about because behind her many flags are shown one of which belong to Iran, Palestine and etc...

I though maybe you would know.
